Electric cars are becoming more popular than ever, which means EV charging stations are more readily available. Whether youre driving a Tesla, Chevy Bolt, Kia Niro, Hyundai Ioniq, Lucid Air,or any of the ever-growing options of EV cars on the market, planning a road trip up or down the Oregon Coast will be a breeze.

Tesla RoadTrip Planner

Driving a Tesla means either having to find Tesla charging stations or bringing your charging adapter so that your Tesla charging port can be used with any EV charging station. Using the Tesla road trip planner in your car is the easiest way to find charging stations that will fit the Tesla charging port on your road trip.

Where to Find EV Charging Stations

Each main Oregon Coast city has an EV charging station available to help you out, wherever you are on your road trip. For the southern Oregon coast, there are Level 2 and Level 3 chargers located at the Fred Meyer locations in Brookings and Coos Bay. They are low-cost chargers and there are many restaurants nearby. If on your way up the coast you need a little more charge, the Reedsport Recreation Station has chargers available in a parking lot. Stop at the nearby Safeway grocery store and Subway and enjoy a picnic while you wait.

After a long road trip, you and your vehicle deserve a rest. A good stopping point would be Old Town Inn or our sister property, River House Inn, in Florence, Oregon. Florence is about halfway between Brookings and Astoria. Depending on your vehicle, you would be able to make it to Astoria or Brookings after using the Level 2 chargers at the hotel. The Old Town Inn now has two Tesla chargers, and two electric vehicle plugs available, free of charge.

While in Florence, visit Historic Old Town Inn and enjoy the many popular restaurants, coffee shops, amazing shops, and attractions listed on our website. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for incredible events throughout the year.

On Highway 101, there are EV charging stations every 40 miles at most. You won’t have to drive very far to find one. Yachats and Newport are great places to stop off the highway. The Yachats City Hall charging station is surrounded by many restaurants. Further down the road, you can find similar dining and shopping options at the City of Newport Public Parking Lot.

Lincoln City offers several EV charging stations and a Tesla Supercharger. Lincoln City is known for its outlet malls, so there is much to do while you wait.

Another charging station, going North on the highway, is the Tillamook Fred Meyer. Nearby are coffee shops, fast food, and restaurants. If you are looking for Tesla-specific chargers, they are also located near these spots, including the Tillamook Creamery, which is a popular spot for tourists.

Get off the beaten path north of Tillamook and visit Rockaway Beach. There’s a ChargePoint Charging EV charging station there and a beautiful view as well! There are two Tesla charging stations a little north in Cannon Beach, which is a gem of the Oregon Coast for art, dining and beautiful scenery.

A popular stop for families is Seaside, OR where there are lots of activities and several EV charging stations. Check out the boardwalk for games, food and scenic ocean views while you charge at the SemaConnect charging station near WorldMark hotel.

Finally, when you get to the tip of the Oregon coast, Astoria, OR, you will find charging stations before and after the bridge across Youngs Bay.
