Florence Events Center
Big name entertainment? Yeah, we’ve got that here too! The Florence Events Center is just a few blocks away and regularly hosts world-class music, dance, and drama. This 21,000 square foot facility annually hosts events ranging from ballet to blues and everything in between. The Events Center is home to the Last Resort Players theatre company and the SEAcoast Entertainment Association’s annual concert series. The FEC also hosts three outstanding annual events: the Florence Festival of Books in September; the Celebrate Arts juried art show in November; and the Winter Folk Festival in January.

Heceta Head Lighthouse
Everyone agrees Heceta Head is one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the world, and it’s just 12 miles north of The Old Town Inn. It is said to be the most photographed lighthouse in the United States. The Heceta (say Ha-SEE-ta to sound like a local) Head Lighthouse and Light Keeper’s house are circa 1894. Both are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. From a height of 205 feet above the ocean the lighthouse casts its beams 21 miles out to sea. It is the brightest light on the Oregon coast. Guided tours from knowledgeable docents are available during the summer months. There is no charge for tours, however, donations are appreciated.

Miller Park, Florence, Oregon
Miller Park in Florence is host to one of Oregon’s newest skate parks. Boards, in-line skates, scooters, and bikes are all welcome; and the locals are friendly and supportive.
Ten minutes from The Old Town Inn are magnificent, uncrowded ocean beaches where you can walk, explore the tidal pools and play to your heart’s content. Beachcombers are often rewarded. Area hiking trails are among the most beautiful and best maintained in the world. The magnificent sunsets are always free.
Ocean Dunes Golf Course

Old Town Florence

The Rhododendron Festival is held in Florence each year on the third weekend of May and is celebrated with parades, a carnival, live music, and classic car show, shine and cruises. Each spring, wild rhododendrons bloom in the hills and fields of Florence as they have been doing for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. The white-pink flowers represent the end of winter and the imminent arrival of our glorious summers.

Siuslaw Pioneer Museum
The Siuslaw Pioneer Museum is the home of authentic and historic displays, pictures, and other information about the Siuslaw River area pioneers and the City of Florence. In the early days the Siuslaw River was the primary and nearly exclusive means of travel for area loggers and fishermen. The museum also offers an audio-visual presentation, information on early shipwrecks, a research library, and a self-guided historic walking tour that begins at the museum and takes you by 21 different buildings and locations in Old Town Florence.

Siuslaw River Bridge
The Siuslaw River Bridge is one of only 46 bridges mentioned in Judith Dupre’s book, ‘A History of the World’s Most Famous and Important Spans’. Within minutes of the bridge are over 40 freshwater lakes and streams. Boating, waterskiing, swimming, fishing and other popular water sports remain a popular draw for visitors year after year.
